FCS is totally wicked!

Have you ever felt like the young boy in this clip?

Have you ever felt that life is too boring and you rarely ever get to see something "amazing?"  Your search is over!

Family Consumer Sciences aka FCS has some of the funnest and interactive classes that you will ever take in your middle school or junior and high school careers.

This is just a small list of things you get to do when involved with FCS....

Knife skills - cut food like a professional chef and impress your friends and family.

Cooking  - learn to make your own food so you don't starve at college.

Sewing - Sew your own outfit that you can wear and show off.

Fashion - learn about dressing for your body type and participate in a runway show.

Textiles - learn where your clothes come from.  Learn about the history of a jean from plant to your closet.

Child Development - See what it's like to have your own baby.  Take a baby home with you that you can feed and take care of.

Interior Design - Learn how to make your home look like MTV cribs.

Financial Literacy - learn how to become a MILLIONAIRE!

That's only a sample of what you'll learn in FCS.  In FCS you get to explore and create in so many different subjects that it's hard to be bored.

We have as much fun as the chef in this clip.

Come join FCS classes!

  1. You had me right at knife skills! Thanks for an enthusiastic posting. A lot of schools like their teachers to keep blogs or websites now; it would be great if you posted something like this to welcome students to your discipline and course. :)

  2. FCS were some of the most fun and interesting classes I remember! They are definitely fun for students to take. I took a sewing class in 8th grade and I got to make this big foot shaped pillow (weird I know!) but it was really fun. I also took a child development class in high school and learned so much valuable information. GO FCS :)

  3. I love your post! It made me think back to my classes in middle/high school. I feel like I learned so much and it really prepared me for my future life. Taking care of that baby that cries and has to be fed and changed was one of the worst nights of my life, but it helped me learn what being a new parent would be like much more than anything else! You are so confident and happy, it makes me want to go back to school so I can be in your classes. :)

  4. Not gonna lie, I'm a little jealous of your career choice! You get to teach all the fun classes! ;) Just get your students to read this blog post and they will have a better attitude towards your class for sure. Your enthusiasm for the content area will also help engage students. Also, what you teach will directly relate to students' lives as they learn to prepare food, decorate their own homes, and eventually raise their own children. Good luck in all of your teaching endeavors! :)
